You can easily bridge assets to Sonic through:
Bridging assets to Sonic is easier than ever, thanks to multiple cross-chain solutions. Sonic Gateway, Sonic Labs’ native bridge, lets you directly transfer assets from the Ethereum network to Sonic. To bridge assets from other networks, you can explore third-party bridges.
Before you begin, keep in mind that you’ll need extra funds for gas and transaction fees. You’ll also need a Web3-compatible wallet like MetaMask or Rabby to interact with the bridge.
Sonic Gateway makes it easy to transfer assets from Ethereum to Sonic. You simply connect your wallet, deposit your assets into the bridge, and confirm the transaction.
Access the Sonic Gateway through Sonic Labs’ official website.
Connect your Web3 wallet, such as MetaMask, Rabby, or OKX Wallet.
Select Ethereum as the origin chain and Sonic as the destination.
Choose the token you want to bridge and enter the amount.
Review the transaction details and approve the transaction.
Once approved, the transfer will be processed during the next heartbeat, which occurs approximately every 10 minutes from Ethereum to Sonic and up to an hour from Sonic to Ethereum. If you need faster transfers, you can either pay a Fast Lane fee to trigger an immediate heartbeat or use an alternative.
Although Sonic Gateway is the easiest way to move assets between Ethereum and Sonic, it does have some limitations. At the moment, Sonic Gateway only supports Ethereum-to-Sonic transfers and only a limited range of tokens. If you need to move assets from other blockchains, you’ll need to explore third-party cross-chain solutions such as deBridge.
Furthermore, because transactions via Sonic Gateway can take time to finish processing, the portal might not be ideal if you need to make instant transfers. When choosing an alternative bridge, consider factors like supported tokens, speed, and fees to find the best option.
Simply connect your wallet, select the token and amount you want to convert, approve the transaction, and wait for the new tokens to appear in your wallet.
Whether you use the official Sonic Gateway or a third-party cross-chain bridge, moving your assets to Sonic is quite simple. With the right wallet and sufficient gas fees, you’ll be ready to explore all the ecosystem has to offer.
